Paul Kilgore - First Sergeant - US Army (Ret) - mentorBack for his third year, Paul Kilgore served with US Army SGM, Keith Helfrich who nominated Paul for the ride in 2019. Paul very ably piloted a sidecar bike with fellow Army veteran, Matthew Zajac as his passenger. Paul came back in 2020 as a mentor and a Road Captain and will be dong the same for us this year. His leadership and riding skills are a huge asset to the program and we are looking forward to another great year of changing and saving veterans lives.
Paul Kilgore enlisted in 1986 as an Infantryman COHORT attending One Station Unit Training and Ft Benning, GA. Later at Ft Drum, he worked as a Grenadier, Team Leader and Squad Leader going from PFC to SSG. During his long and distinguished service Paul was a PLDC Instructor at the NCO Academy at Camp Jackson, a Drill Sergeant at Ft Benning. He served as a Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant, was stationed at Eglin AFB as a Ranger Instructor. His last and final duty assignment was back at Ft Drum where he was assigned as First Sergeant to 10th Mountain Division. He deployed to Iraq in 2005 and he worked at multiple small Forward Operating Bases in the Western area of Baghdad. He retired in 2007. Paul finished his Associates in Arts Degree in Business while on Active Duty and began working on his Bachelor of Science Degree. Upon his retirement he completed his BS in Business, Management and Economics. He has also earned his MBA with a focus on Entrepreneurship. He is a two-time cancer survivor. Paul has been an active member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association since his chapter was started on 2010. In addition to riding motorcycles he has also been making home brew beer for many years and is working to start his own small local brewery. He also volunteers with his local Volunteer Fire Department, Pamelia VFD. |
