Brian Sayer, Army, Major (Ret)Brian David Sayer joined the army, right out of high school, in 1985. He served 6 years on active duty as a military police soldier, serving at Ft Hood Texas, Heidelberg Germany and Fort Carson Colorado. A few years after ending his tour of active service, Brian joined the Iowa Army National Guard and attended Office Candidate School where he graduated as the distinguished honor graduate. A short time later, he transferred to the Missouri Army National Guard as an engineer officer. In 2004, Brian deployed to Iraq as a combat engineer platoon leader. In 2007, he again deployed to Iraq and in 2009 he deployed to Afghanistan and his final deployment was to Kuwait in 2017. Brian retired from the army in 2020 with over 20 years of active duty service. His awards include a Legion of Merit, three bronze stars, one with “valor” and four purple hearts.
Brian is married to the love of his life, Pamela Sayer and they reside in Stafford Virginia. They have 5 grown children and 12 grandchildren, which will increase to 14 prior to 2023. Brian has been riding motorcycles for several decades and enjoys all genres of motorcycles, including dirt bikes, adventure bikes, street bikes and touring motorcycles and when he isn’t riding one, he is busy repairing or restoring them. |
