DaKoda Antelope Sgt USMC Ret. - Mentor
Dakoda joined VCR as a rider in 2020 for the ride to Sturgis. We are very pleased to have him return in 2022 as a mentor for our October ride and program.
Born in Murray UT, DaKoda joined the Marines in 2005, eager to see what the military had to offer. After joining he learned that his uncle had served in the Air Force and his Grandfather served in the Army during the Korean War.
Dakoda distinguished himself by becoming the first person to be trained in all aspects of the Harrier Jet. He “dabbled” in jet engines and held several certifications allowing him to work on numerous aircraft. Dakoda deployed on the USS Kearsarge with 22nd MEU in support of OEF, He went to multiple locations including humanitarian aid in Bangladesh. He was medically retired in 2013.
As a kid, Dakoda shared his older brother’s love of riding and rode whatever bike his brother had! He has ridden a variety of bikes over the years; a small Kawasaki, his brother’s bullet bike, CBR 1000 and in 2009 after returning from his deployment Dakoda got a Sportster to ride in and around the base in North Carolina. An avid rider, he’s been riding a big V-twin for the past three years.
