David Camargo, Sergeant, US Army, RetiredDavid Camargo was born and grew up in Mission, Texas. He played football and was in the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) his freshman year of high school. He knew by then that he wanted to be in the military. He had cousins in the military as well. No college or office job for him. He wanted to be in the Army. Right after high school David went into basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia. His Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) was 11 Bravo. David’s dates of service were from 2001 – 2009.
David spends time with his family and boxing with his good friend and fellow boxing veteran Moses Sonera, who nominated him for this year’s Veterans Charity Ride (VCR) to Sturgis. Moses joined the ride in 2017 and is returning this year as a mentor. David is really looking forward to being a sidecar passenger and joining the VCR family. David says he is hoping to get out of his usual routine, to gain a different view on things, and to having a good time with other veterans. |
