Ryan Lundbohm, Capt. US Marine Corps (ret) - MentorRyan first joined Veterans Charity Ride in 2021 as a photographer, who also became a rider/participant. After his first participation with the program, it led Ryan to purchasing his own bike and renewed his love affair with riding. He is returning in 2022 as mentor and photographer; we are thrilled to have him back.
Born into a family of service, Ryan joined the Marine Corps just after two years of college while on a lacrosse scholarship. Ryan joined the Corps as an artilleryman and just after three years in the position, he tried out for Marine Reconnaissance and made the selection. After Reconnaissance; Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape (SERE); and Airborne school, Ryan reported into 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion in Okinawa, Japan where he soon deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. Upon his return from Iraq, Ryan was selected for an enlisted-to-officer program and attended Officer Candidate School (OCS) and the University of New Mexico to complete his undergraduate degree. After graduation, he then attended The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia and retained a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) in logistics. Ryan would continue to further his education and graduate with honors in 2014 from Norwich University with a Masters of Public Administration (MPA). Ryan was medically retired from the Marine Corps as a captain with over 14 years of service. Since retiring, he has travelled extensively in his adventure van with his partner Amanda and service dog Mr. Pickles. Ryan is a photographer and adventurer based out of Moab, Utah. |
