I have been in the Army for nearly 10 years and am an Afghanistan war vet where I supported the 4th infantry division while I was in the 82nd Airborne Division in the Kunar Province in 2009.
I was in the 82nd Airborne Division for the first 5 years where I jumped out of airplanes and fixed trucks as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. I was also a command driver for my Battalion Commander. I was deployed to Afghanistan in July 2009 through January 2010. I performed maintenance on M777A2 155mm howitzers and also worked on the 4th Infantry Divisions MRAP armored vehicles. |

My last 5 years in the Army have been on recruiting duty. I was first stationed in recruiting in Salisbury, MD and bought my first motorcycle for the road, a Kawasaki Vulcan 900. I put just shy of 20,000 miles on my Vulcan 900 in three years.
I am currently assigned to the Colorado Springs Recruiting Company and own an HD Dyna Street Bob and have put over 15K miles on it in the last two years. All in all, I have been riding motorcycles on road for 5 years and off road for as long as I can remember. I have ridden some pretty challenging roads to include; Skyline Drive in VA and the Pikes Peak HWY. I rode my Dyna to and from Sturgis for the second consecutive year.
I would like to be a sidecar pilot because I love the military and supporting those who have served. I am third generation military myself on my Dads side and have a brother who also serves in the Army. I have served with soldiers who have sustained injuries from IED, gun shots, and indirect rocket fire. They are true heroes and deserve our recognition. I believe that I will be able to help with this year’s ride in both my ability to pilot and also socialize with these men and women. I understand that it can be uncomfortable for a lot of these guys to be around large crowds of people and I think it will do them well to have a fellow brother in arms to help them.
