Jared Thomas, Staff Sergeant US ArmyStaff Sergeant Jared Thomas was born November 16, 1990, at Fort Lewis, Washington. As a young child he moved back to his mother’s hometown of Springport, Indiana, where he was raised. As a senior in high school Jared decided to enlist into the military. He wasn’t sure which branch to choose, the men in his family had served across all the military branches. Jared’s decision to join was built on a sense of pride and patriotism from having so many members of his family serve this country. He finally made the decision to join the Army after a discussion with his girlfriends’ father, now his Father-in-law, who served 31 years in the Army. Jared knew he wanted a job where he could help others, so he decided that becoming a Combat Medic was the right choice for him.
Jared served on Active Duty in the Army for eight and half years, from 2009-2018. During his military career he was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado; Schweinfurt/Grafenwöhr, Germany; Fort Sam Houston, Texas; and Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Jared’s been deployed multiple times, including going to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa. After years of ground pounding with Infantry and Scout soldiers, Jared decided to become an Army Flight Paramedic, and was stationed with the 82nd Airborne Aviation “ALL-AMERICAN DUSTOFF”. Jared began his Army career and at the same time he married his high school sweetheart, Mikaela. They are blessed to have two sons, Greyson and Oliver. Jared has been riding motorcycles since he was a young teenager and continues to love riding. He is grateful and excited to have been nominated for the Veterans Charity Ride by fellow veteran, David Grabowski. Jared is looking forward to meeting the other veterans and the healing experiences that the Veterans Charity Ride provides. |
